Privacy Notice

SIKTEC respects your privacy. This site is a marketing and engineering-journal website - it does not sell products, run advertising, or build profiles on visitors. This notice explains the small amount of data we process and why.

The short version

• We use privacy-respecting, self-hosted analytics - no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers.
• Our analytics set no cookies and collect no personally identifiable information.
• We honor your browser's “Do Not Track” setting.
• Fonts are served from our own servers - your browser makes no request to Google Fonts or any third-party font CDN.
• We only receive personal data you choose to send us, via the contact form.

Who we are

This site is operated by SIKTEC (“we”, “us”, “our”), reachable at siktec.lab@gmail.com. For any privacy question or request relating to siktec.xyz, email that address.

Analytics

We measure aggregate, anonymous traffic using self-hosted Umami - analytics software that runs on our own infrastructure, not a third party's. It is designed to be privacy-first:

• It sets no cookies and does not use any persistent identifier to follow you across sessions or sites.
• It collects only aggregate signals - page paths, referrer, approximate region (derived from IP, which is not stored), and general device/browser type.
• It does not collect names, email addresses, or any data that identifies you personally.
• If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, the analytics script is not loaded at all.

Because this data is anonymous and cookieless, it does not require a consent banner under the GDPR or ePrivacy rules.

Fonts and other assets

All fonts, scripts, images, and styles on this site are hosted by us. We do not embed Google Fonts, ad networks, social media “like” buttons, session-replay tools, or any other third-party code that would let an outside party observe your visit. The only outbound request your browser makes is to our own domain (and, where you click them, the external links we publish - e.g. our GitHub or LinkedIn profiles).

The contact form

If you use our contact form, we process the information you submit - typically your name, email address, and message, plus any optional fields you fill in (phone, company, project details). We use this solely to respond to your enquiry. Specifically:

• Submissions are delivered to our inbox by email (via our email provider, Resend) and may also be posted to a private team chat channel.
• To block spam, the form runs invisible, in-browser checks (a signed token, a timing check, and a small proof-of-work computation). These run on your device and do not profile you.
• We keep contact correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request and any reasonable follow-up, then delete it.
• We do not add you to any marketing list, and we do not share your details with third parties for their own purposes.

Server logs

Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider may keep short-lived technical logs (e.g. IP address, timestamp, requested URL) for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. These are standard operational records, are not used to build a profile of you, and are rotated/retained according to ordinary hosting practice.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. Since the only personal data we hold is what you send us directly, you can exercise these rights - or ask any question - by emailing siktec.lab@gmail.com. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the site evolves. When we do, we'll revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here; please check back periodically.
